Apart from knowing which search terms people use, you need to know whether or not your idea for your post or page fits the desires and expectations of the people who use the search terms. The best way to find out whether or not your content fits these desires is to Google your proposed (sets of) keywords yourself. Look for pages that have excessive links. Google advises 100 per page as a maximum, although it is OK to increase that on more important and heavily linked-to pages. The correct order of keywords will generally rank better as compared to the same keyword phrase in a different order. Now, this is an important issue to be addressed.

Use discretion with hashtags

The nature of having competitors mean that they will always be looking to beat you, gain ground if they are falling behind, or pull further ahead where possible. To do this, you have to accept that there is always opportunities, whether you are thinking outside of the box, improving content that has been created by a competitor or your own resource. Each algorithm change brings the search engine closer to its intended purpose. It’s getting harder and harder to “game the system” with exploitive linkbuilding strategies and blackhat SEO. Thin content is the idea that there’s not much actual text on an ecommerce site compared to, say, a blog or software site. Imagine dozens and dozens of thin content pages created because of random product attribute and product filter pages. Some of those pages might only list one or two products. Consider what happens when a user removes part of your URL - Some users might navigate your site in odd ways, and you should anticipate this.

Have you considered why it’s important to have quality outbound links from your website?

Add internal links to the taxonomies the post belongs to Anchor text to specific webpages on your site should be descriptive (but concise) as possible in order to benefit from the link. What is user intent? In short it is the reason why someone is searching for something in Google. What are they actually trying to achieve as a result of typing (or saying) that search term? If you maintain a blog, of course you want the traffic to your blog to grow. But what if it doesn’t? What if the traffic to your blog is (slightly) decreasing? What do you do?

Cooperate with other social bookmarkers

Make it as easy as possible for users to go from general content to the more specific content they want on your site. Add navigation pages when it makes sense and effectively work these into your internal link structure. Do follow links are defined as links, passing link juice to achieve a better page rank in search engines as it tells the search engine spiders to follow the particular link. These follow links are links that counts as ‘votes’, forcing SEO link juice and increasing the page rank of the linked to sites. Website crawl-ability and making a website searchable goes beyond making sure Google can “crawl” the website. Understanding how a website’s users (including Google) are navigating a website is key to building an information architecture. Building the information architecture in a way that mirrors their thought processes will help both user types discover information on a website. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Every piece of content should have the user in mind. This also applies to SEO. You can’t create your next piece of content, or carry out keyword research, without knowing your audience."

Link internally wherever possible

A page that doesn’t meet the needs and expectations of users will never achieve strong user signals. Because it’s not answering the right questions or providing the right information, users will quickly abandon your page in search of a more useful one. In order to please both the search engines (who will reward you with high rankings over time) and potential customers and return visitors, you need to offer value above and beyond search engine optimization. Numerous studies have documented that page one rankings are often in the 2,000+ word length and higher. A major consideration when creating internal backlinks is how you link different assets together.
